The STScI receives 58,000 euros from the Hans Hermann Voss Foundation in Wipperfürth. This makes it possible to equip the SchoolLab in particular with sophisticated instruments and protective facilities. These include telescopes, mountings, spectrographs, eyepieces, cameras and computers. Beginners learn observation techniques at the small SchoolLab telescopes. Only when these procedures have been learned they can work on the large telescope at professional level. Pupils are didactically introduced to the techniques and not overburdened.
