Sheet metal lasts forever

We have now begun installing corrugated sheet metal walls in the building of our lower auxiliary station below the service building. In doing so, we are following a construction philosophy that we have already implemented at the upper auxiliary station next to the service building and at the student laboratory. The main advantages are extremely fast temperature regulation for low air turbulence and unlimited durability. The building will protect a larger telescope with a high-resolution slit spectrograph under its fiberglass dome. This system will also be controlled from the control room in the service building. The station thus forms an educational bridge between the school lab and the large telescope.
