The new STEM report from the German Economic Institute states that there is still a shortage of skilled personnel in STEM professions (workers and academics) on the German labor market. This jeopardizes important future projects in the areas of digitization, climate protection, infrastructure, and defense. According to the report, this shortage in the fields of mathematics, computer science, natural sciences, and technology will continue to worsen due to demographic change and declining STEM skills among young people.
