The Fish Head Nebula (IC 1795) in the constellation of Cassiopeia

With a little imagination you can see the head of a fish in this galactic nebula of gases and dust clouds. The Fish Head Nebula IC1795 is positioned close to the Heart Nebula IC 1805 near the well-known double star cluster “h + chi” in the constellation Perseus. The colors of this image correspond to the Hubble color palette, which assigns the narrow-band emissions of sulfur, hydrogen and oxygen atoms to the colors red, green and blue.

The picture was taken on New Year’s Eve 2020 with a lens telescope with 115mm lens diameter and 640mm focal length at an exposure time of almost three hours. The picture was taken in the town of Wissen.
