A quick shot…

After years of construction we finally have observed again at our secondary station. Fast shots with a CANON DSLR color camera without any corrections. Here the apparently brightest globular cluster in the northern sky M13 in Hercules. The globular cluster was discovered in 1714 by the English astronomer Sir Edmund Halley. It is about 25,000 light years away from the sun, has 300,000 times the luminosity of the sun and a diameter of 150 light years.

Image taken at STScI with a 14-inch RC telescope. A total of 80 seconds was exposed in September 2019.
