Students of the Astro Working Group at the Hollenberg-Gymnasium Waldbröl have had a look at our student laboratory together with Frank Bohlscheid, head of the group. Because of the cloudy sky, the first meeting on site provided an insight into the technology of the laboratory, the entire infrastructure and, of course, the large telescope. Unfortunately, the telescopes could not be “calibrated” at stars (positioning of the mount for the purpose of compensating the Earth’s rotation). This will soon be done at the school lab and, if the work is successful, at the large telescope.
