After all the years of construction, we still experience special machines for our work from time to time. A vibrating plate was in our professional use at some point, but not in the fingers of our club members. Simon Gier was therefore hardly to be stopped to close this experience gap (Klaus and Ralf have kept a low profile). This “thing” made a lot of noise and smelled like diesel, it was a pleasure. Simon literally threw himself into compacting the ground in front of our observatory. Only after the work was done did he think about ear protectors and we now hope that he will be able to follow our discussions in the future.
